Welcome back

I have decided to start blogging again... We'll see how long this lasts.  I think I'm just bored and have stuff to say and I'm not always sure Facebook is a great venue, and it makes for really long statuses sometimes.  Really it makes no difference, I will probably be posting the link to this on my Facebook which is essentially the same thing.  I'm considering switching to word press, but for now I'm just going to use my old blog.   Also, although I generally try to avoid conflict and rarely state my opinion in an effort to not be controversial, this is my blog, and it's not fun when I have to edit my own thoughts... So I welcome people to disagree, we all have different opinions, but that doesn't give anyone the right to be mean (not that I really have mean friends...so I guess it's a moot point).

So as of yesterday there is a fued between Miley Cyrus and Sinead O'Connor... To be honest, I couldn't care less, I think all of this attention is just fueling the Miley craziness (yes I get that I'm perpetuating it myself, but I highly doubt anyone other than a few immediate friends will even read this... And I'm getting to my point in bringing it up).  In the back and forth twitter argument Miley made what I consider to be a low blow.  Apparently, she copy and pasted remarks Sinead had made like 2 years ago on her own twitter when she was "mentally Ill" and compared her to Amanda Bynes.  That is where I draw a line, mental health is not funny.  It is not something to ridicule.  We all have moments I'm sure we are less than proud of, whether it is an actual diagnosed bout of depression, or bipolar, or a period where you just aren't yourself. I think it is wrong to take that and throw it in someone's face as something negative.  I don't know exactly what is going on with Amanda Bynes, but she is getting help, so I just wish people would lay off and stop making her a poster child for crazy.  Back to my point... One of Miley's retorts was "I'm hosting and performing on snl this week so I don't have time for this" ok, but you do have time to go back 2 years on someone's twitter feed and make screen shots to make them look "crazy"? Basically Sinead came back and said, those tweets were 2 years old, and she sought help after... She threatened legal action if Miley didn't remove the tweets and apologize to her and Amanda Bynes... So I don't know what will come of all that... But I have to say I do actually agree with Sinead, mental health has a negative stigma in society, and sad as it is, it's things like this that prevent people from getting help when they may need it because they fear a backlash, or are scared they will always be seen as "crazy".  http://iphone.eonline.com/article?id=466790 this is the article.  Now, with all that being said, I do not agree on all accounts, I think this public "open letter" thing is getting a bit out of hand... And while Sinead had valid points, I feel like if there was genuine concern, it doesn't necessarily need to be done publically.  But maybe that's just because I have no aspirations to ever be a public figure.
